A forklift driver in Georgia who won nearly half a million dollars in the lottery last November was shot to death during a home invasion on Thursday, police say.  Craigory Burch Jr., 20, was killed overnight Thursday at a home on Stubbs Avenue in Fitzgerald. Burch was inside the house with his girlfriend, Jasmine Hendricks, at the time of the home invasion, and he ran for help when he was shot. Hendricks said, "When they came in, he said, 'don't do it bro. Don't do it in front of my kids. Please don't do it in front of my kids and old lady. Please don't do that bro. Please don't.' He said 'I'll give you my bank card.'" On Nov. 29, Burch matched all five numbers on the Fantasy 5 drawing — winning the $434,272 jackpot. According to a Georgia Lottery news release, Burch said, "I knew that I would come into money. I couldn't believe it at first. I was stunned. I'm still overwhelmed." Friends of Burch told WALB that he used some of his lottery winnings to buy Christmas presents for people in need. No arrests have been made.
