Fields told investigators that the two were engaged in sexual activity when he put his gun to her head in a role-play scenario that she requested, WFLA reported. He said he removed the magazine from the .9 mm pistol, but forgot to take the bullet out of the chamber.
Fields pulled the trigger and shot her in the head. He immediately called 911 and told investigators that it happened during 'freaky sex'.
Meagher was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators found a single fired projectile, a cartridge casing and the gun in the hotel room, ABC Action News reported.
Fields told police that he had only known Meagher for a couple of days before their date at the hotel. According to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Department, Meagher didn't have any injuries consistent with sexual battery.
Fields is being held in the Hillsborough County jail and his bond is set at $30,000.
He faces one count of manslaughter with a weapon and a felony one charge, according to his arrest record.
Our condolences is with Christina Meagher's family....No one has the right to take someone else life!
